Firstly, the Department of Home Affairs has allocated a much smaller number of places to the States for nominating new applicants.

Secondly, all state and territory governments have filled their quota and are closed for this financial or visa year.

Thirdly, the state and territory governments do not know their allocation of places for the new year in July this year.

Finally, the BIIP is part of the Migration Review which is underway and we are waiting on the recommendations from this. All of this means it is even more competitive than ever for business & investor visas.
