The new skilled regional visas have come into force. They were introduced on 16th November 2019, so what does this mean for you?
There are two provisional residence visas: Subclass 491 & 494
There is one permanent residence visa subclass – Subclass 191
The Australian government is encouraging new immigrants to settle in regional areas of Australia. But please take note that… Once you start on the regional pathway, it’s very difficult to move to other visas. The Department of Immigration wants a commitment from applicants to live and work in regional Australia for a minimum of 3 years. There are some real concessions offered to apply for these visas but there are also strict requirements and pitfalls. Especially with new visas being introduced, it’s advisable to get good advice before you start the process.
